Far Eastern Air Transport (Taipei Songshan) could be temporarily barred from accessing new routes should a recommendation by the Taiwanese Civil Aeronautics Administration (TCAA) to Taiwan's Ministry of Transportation and Communications regarding Far Eastern's perceived safety oversights, be enforced. Following a spate of incidents involving its ageing fleet of four MD-82s and three MD-83s in April, the TCAA opened an inquiry into FEAT's operations and found several areas which needed urgent attention. The CAA says it will execute a follow up inspection in mid June to see if corrective measures have been taken.
