Greenland Express (Aalborg) has been forced to put off its planned launch after the venture's financial backers reportedly pulled out, Danish aviation news site check-in.dk has reported. The startup's CEO, Gert Brask, says that all forms of cooperation with both Silver Tiger Aviation and Delta Capita - the investors and advisers behind the project respectively - have been broken off after both allegedly failed to come up with funding. As such London-based Greenland Express Ltd has been closed, he said. Mr Brask said efforts to get the airline in the air would continue, albeit under his firm, Greenland Express Holdings. New investors will be sought and together with Denim Air ACMI (Amsterdam Schiphol), it is hoped Greenland Express will be operational come either October or November. While at present time the Dutch ACMI firm lacks an Artic operational licence - needed in order to operate flights into and out of Greenland - an application for one would be submitted shortly, he added.
