Cape Air (9K, Hyannis) has been awarded an USD11.95million Essential Air Service contract by the US Department of Transportation to operate flights from Billings to Glasgow, MT, Glendive, Havre City County, Sidney, MT and Wolf Point in Montana with effect from December 1, 2013, through to November 30, 2015. The flights will operate onboard Cessna 402s and replace those operated by incumbent Silver Airways (Fort Lauderdale International) which, on June 28, 2013, filed a 90-day notice of its intent to terminate its subsidized service effective September 26, 2013. Boutique Air (4B, San Francisco) and Great Lakes Airlines (Cheyenne) also submitted bids.
