Hi Fly Malta (3L, Malta International) has filed an application with the US Department of Transportation for a planned Malta International to New York JFK route. While no specific schedule, or launch date for that matter, has been availed, the carrier would likely deploy its sole A340-600, 9H-SEA (c/n 383), onto the route. A subsidiary of Portugal's Hi Fly (5K, Beja), Hi Fly Malta submitted its application for an Air Operators Certificate to the Maltese authorities in February this year.
