Cebu Pacific Air (5J, Manila Ninoy Aquino International) Vice President of Corporate Affairs, Jorenz Tanada, says his airline will take delivery of eight new Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) jets during the course of the year. "For 2014, we look forward to taking delivery of 8 additional Airbus aircraft including five Airbus A320-200s and three Airbus A330-300s," said Tanada. "The A330s will be utilized to expand our long-haul operations. We will continue to bring the benefits of low-cost travel to even more travellers." With the recent closure of an agreement to acquire Tigerair Philippines (Angeles City Clark International), Cebu will replace four of Tigerair Philippines' aircraft, leased from Tigerair (Singapore Changi) itself, with four of its own A320-200s. The airlines fleet of two A319-100s will be among the first to go. The remaining three A320s in the Tigerair fleet will be returned some time in the third quarter of 2014, the PhilippineFlightNetwork said. "Cebu Pacific may also evaluate temporarily using its first new A330 aircraft of 2014 in the domestic market to offset the loss of the first aircraft to Tigerair while it finalizes a plan for its second long-haul route."
