TAR Aerolíneas will commence revenue service on March 3 using its two ex-Freedom Airlines (United States of America) (New York JFK) E145s. A third aircraft is expected in the second half of the year. According to airline president, Luis Humberto Gómez Terrazas, the plan is to operate a fleet of fourteen aircraft by 2017. He underscored that TAR would not be a Low Cost Carrier and will instead focus on providing high quality services to its passengers. Initial flights from Querétaro will include Guadalajara, Monterrey Mariano Escobedo, Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo, Los Mochis, Puerto Vallarta, Durango International and Puebla. The start-up says that using an initial start-up capital of MXP265million (USD19.7million), it will create 320 jobs.
