Caribbean Airlines (BW, Port of Spain) has not cancelled any flights into or out of Georgetown Cheddi Jagan despite the United States' State Department issuing a warning of “unconfirmed threat information”. The warning had pertained to the airline's flights from Guyana to and from New York JFK. “Out of an abundance of caution, the Embassy advises all U.S. Citizens in Guyana traveling on Caribbean Airlines (CAL) to the United States from Monday, February 10 through Wednesday, February 12, 2014, to make alternate travel arrangements," the US Embassy in Guyana said in a statement. Caribbean Airlines says its flights were operating normally, but noted that extra security was in place.
