Capital Airlines (China) (JD, Beijing Daxing International) is set to go ahead with plans to reinvent itself as a Low Cost Carrier Chinese aviation portal WCARN has reported. With the recent move to end its participation in the "Fortune Wings Clubs" frequent flyer programme of parent Hainan Airlines (HU, Haikou), the airline will become the second airline in the HNA Group to begin budget operations following West Air (China) (PN, Chongqing).
With demand for budget travel growing in China, other carriers that have announced plans to restructure themselves into LCCs are China Express Airlines (G5, Chongqing) and China United Airlines (KN, Beijing Daxing International).
Formerly Deer Air (Beijing Capital), Capital Airlines operates twenty-nine A319-100s and eighteen A320-200s on flights to 52 destinations throughout China.
