AeroGal (Quito International) is to be rebranded as Avianca Ecuador (Quito International) sources on social media have reported. In October 2009, AeroGal announced its plan to merge with the Colombian airline, Avianca (Bogotá), and the Salvadoran airline, TACA International Airlines (San Salvador International). It currently operates six A319-100s and two A320-200s on flights linking Bogotá, Cali, Coca, Cuenca, Manta International, Baltra Island and San Cristóbal, EC from its bases at Guayaquil and Quito.
