Ryanair (FR, Dublin International) has unveiled plans to develop Glasgow International into its third Scottish hub with effect from October 26 this year. The Irish LCC says it will base one B737-800 at the airport for use on flights to Bydgoszcz Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Londonderry City of Derry, Dublin International, London Stansted, and Warsaw Modlin.

However, the move will have negative consequences on the carrier's existing Glasgow Prestwick hub operations with the loss of its Derry, Dublin, and Warsaw Modlin flights.

Despite the switch, Ryanair said it "remains committed" to Prestwick, where it maintains a major MRO facility.
