Falcon Aviation Services (FVS, Abu Dhabi Bateen) has signed a firm purchase agreement with Bombardier Aerospace (BBA, Montréal Trudeau) for two CS300s along side a Letter of Intent (LOI) for five additional DHC-8-400s during the ongoing Farnborough International Airshow 2014.
The former transaction, valued at approximately USD153.6million at list prices, is a conversion of the Letter of Intent (LOI) to acquire one CS300 aircraft and one option that was announced on February 26, 2014. With the aircraft's arrival, Falcon Aviation Services will become the CSeries' launch customer in the United Arab Emirates.
The latter transaction, valued at approximately USD160million, is in addition to the order for two Q400 NextGen aircraft announced in February 2014 and an order for one firm aircraft placed in April 2014. The operator’s current fleet already includes one Q400 aircraft in addition to one DHC-8-300 aircraft and two DHC-8-200 turboprops.
In a related development, the Canadian manufacturer also revealed Abu Dhabi Aviation (BAR, Abu Dhabi International) as the owner of a firm order for two Q400 NextGen aircraft, announced on April 23, 2014.
Falcon Aviation Services is based at Abu Dhabi Bateen and operates a fleet of corporate jets conducting VIP charter flights, as well as a fleet of helicopters serving the offshore oil and gas industry.
