Batik Air (ID, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta) has taken delivery of its first B737-800, PK-LBL (msn 39821), following a delivery flight routed Seattle Boeing Field-Honolulu-Majuro-Cebu-Singapore Seletar. The twinjet is the first of six sourced from the Boeing (BOE, Washington National) order book of parent Lion Air (JT, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta).
Batik Air operates a fleet of six B737-900(ER)s with its first of seven A320-200 (SL)s, PK-LAF (cn 6164), nearing the delivery stage. While its route network currently consists of flights connecting the Indonesian cities of Ambon, Balikpapan, Denpasar, Jayapura, Manado, Pekanbaru, Surabaya, and Yogyakarta Adisutjipto with its Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta hub, it is hoping to start its first scheduled services to Singapore Changi before the end of this year, subject to regulatory approval.
