Alliance Air (India) (9I, Delhi International) is set to resume services to India's north-eastern provinces after an agreement was reached between airline officials and regional government bureaucrats concerning route subsidies.

Following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Department of Development for the North Eastern Region (DoNER), Alliance Air will resume scheduled services to the five north-eastern cities including Guwahati, Shillong, Tezpur, Lilabari, and Silchar using ATR42-300 turboprops effective from now until March 2016. Alliance had given up these routes by the end of 2012.

The provinces' regional government will provide viability gap funding in the form of jet-fuel concessions as well as subsidized landing, route navigation facility charges and other costs.
