East African Aviation (Addis Ababa International) is an Ethiopian start-up backed by former Ethiopian Airlines (ET, Addis Ababa International) captain, Mulatu Lemlemayehu. With ETB57million (USD2.81million) in initial funding, the carrier plans to offer ad-hoc charter and medevac services using a pair of Beech (twin turboprop) King Air 200s initially. A pair of Cessna (single turboprop) 172s have also been acquired for its planned flying school.
It has yet to obtain its Air Operators Certificate (AOC) from the Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority (ECAA).
