Seabird Airlines (Istanbul Atatürk) has reportedly ceased operations following months of inactivity Turkey's Hürriyet daily newspaper has reported. According to the publication, the Turkish seaplane operator, the country's only such one, has struggled financially since one of its key backers decided to pull out of the firm earlier in the year.
The resulting cash crisis has seen the airline suspend various routes culminating it ending operations last week.
Launched in 2012, Seabird had operated a fleet of four DHC-6-300s leased from Canada's Kenn Borek Air (KBA, Calgary) offering scheduled flights between Istanbul Atatürk, Alacati, Ayvalık, Bodrum Milas, Bozcaada, and Izmir Adnan Menderes.
