Air China (CA, Beijing Capital) has announced an order placed with Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) for 12 A330-300s that are to be delivered through 2018. The deal has been announced just two days before the ground breaking of an A330 completion facility Airbus has agreed to build in Tianjin, complementing its existing A320 completion center in the Chinese city.

Air China currently operates 23 A330-300s on domestic flights as well as to Hong Kong, Taiwan, Europe, the Indian subcontinent, Middle East, ASEAN countries and Australia. The majority of the aircraft are based in Beijing and Chengdu Shuangliu.
