Air Creebec (YN, Val d'Or) has announced it has increased its shareholding in fellow Canadian operator Propair (PRO, Rouyn) from the previous 12.5%, to 50%.

Étienne Lambert, the President of Propair, and Tanya Pash, the Chief Operating Officer of Air Creebec, made the announcement earlier this week wherein they highlighted that the closer equity sharing would result in better service and increased flexibility for customers of both companies.

"This agreement will definitely improve our ability to meet the needs of our business customers and allow us to continue to develop new markets," Lambert said. "The solidification of our partnership with Air Creebec is an opportunity to give our corporate clientele better access to mining sites and offer greater flexibility in timetables and destinations."

For her part, Pash said Air Creebec's investment would further strengthen its position as a carrier on the James Bay coast.

"This is an opportunity to seize the incredible opportunities to optimize operations and increase the fleet of aircraft while providing the same security, reliability, and efficiency," she added.

Propair specializes in aircraft leasing, medevac, corporate shuttle and aircraft maintenance services from its facilities at Rouyn and Montréal Trudeau. For its part, Air Creebec operates fourteen Dash 8-100, one Dash 8-300, two Beech (twin turboprop) King Airs, one Beech 1900D, and two BAe 748s on scheduled and charter services to fifteen destinations across Quebec and Ontario.
