Stobart Air (Dublin International) has taken delivery of its first ATR42-600 following the arrival of EI-GEV (msn 1213) in Dublin International from Shannon where it had recently undergone painting.
On lease from Nordic Aviation Capital, the ATR - Avions de Transport Régional turboprop will be deployed into service for Aer Lingus (EI, Dublin International) under its Aer Lingus Regional brand. According to a Stobart Air press release, EI-GEV will be deployed on its renewed Dublin-Donegal PSO route thereby allowing it to deploy its larger ATR72s on its Dublin-Kerry services. This will lead to a 50% increase in capacity on the latter route, it said.
Stobart Air says it has invested up to EUR13.8 million euros (USD17.07 million) into its fleet to cover its PSO routes which have run from 2015 and which were recently renewed through to January 31, 2022.
