Wing Spirit (Honolulu) has firmed an order for fifteen HA-420s, including the two units already delivered to the Hawaiian charter specialist earlier in July 2019.
Honda Aircraft (HON, Greensboro Piedmont Triad International) said in a press release that Wing Spirit will use its HondaJets to provide inter-island transportation throughout the Hawaiian Islands. The start-up carrier is also exploring using HondaJets as air ambulances and for aviation education opportunities throughout the Hawaiian Islands.
Should Wing Spirit decide to operate HA-420s in medevac configuration, it would be the world's first operator of the type in such a configuration.
"Prior to the HondaJet's entry into service in the region, no other light jet had operated in Hawaii," Honda Aircraft CEO Michimasa Fujino said.
