Cirrus Airlines (Saarbrücken) has filed for insolvency at a local court in Saarbrücken on January 23 after talks about a potential investment by SkyWork Airlines (Bern) had failed down. It has suspended operations with its fleet of nine Do328-100s and an E170. Cirrus had mainly served domestic routes in Germany as well as international flights between Austria, Germany and Switzerland in cooperation with Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt International) and Swiss (LX, Zurich) that codeshared on all of its services. OLT Express Germany (Bremen Hans Koschnick) has taken over its Dresden-Zurich route on February 1 in cooperation with Swiss. All of Cirrus' other routes currently remain unserved and the insolvency administrators have publicly announced they are in negotiations with two potential investors interested in acquiring the airline to resume limited operations.
