Spirit Airlines (NK, Fort Lauderdale International) has placed an order for ten incremental A321-200Ns with Air Lease Corporation with delivery dates scheduled for 2023 and 2024.

The agreement also includes the sale/lease-back of five A320-200Ns slated for delivery in 2021 and 2022.

"This partnership helps us to achieve our previously announced capacity plans for 2022 and 2023, and our targeted growth in 2024, as we Invest in the guest and deliver new exciting destinations,” Chief Financial Officer Scott Haralson said.

According to the ch-aviation fleets module, the ultra-low-cost carrier already operates forty-three A320-200Ns and has a further 67 on order from Airbus. While it has yet to take any A321-200Ns, it has twenty on a direct order from the manufacturer alongside thirty-five A319-100Ns. Meanwhile, Spirit's A320ceo Family fleet comprises thirty-one A319-100s, sixty-four A320-200s, and thirty A321-200s.

Spirit Airlines has pursued an accelerated fleet renewal drive during the COVID-19 crisis and has already moved forward some of its A320-200N deliveries. It has also swapped some of its A319neo orders for larger variants.
