US's New Pacific Airlines expands route network
22.09.2023 - 15:41 UTCNew Pacific Airlines (7H, Anchorage Ted Stevens) is expanding its network with new routes between Ontario International, California, and the leisure/entertainment destinations of Reno/Tahoe, Nevada, and Nashville International, Tennessee, commencing on November 16, 2023.
Chief Executive Officer Rob McKinney has labelled the route growth a significant step forward for the airline, which rebranded from Northern Pacific Airways earlier this month in response to pending trademark litigation. The airline has faced numerous challenges since its beginning, including setbacks caused by Covid-19 and the Ukraine war, which led to restrictions on long-distance flights. Initially, it aimed to establish Anchorage Ted Stevens, Alaska, as a connecting hub between the US and Asia.
The addition of Reno, a popular winter sports destination, and Nashville, known for its American Country music scene, follow the airline's existing service to the entertainment city of Las Vegas Harry Reid, Nevada.
According to the ch-aviation schedules module, New Pacific Airlines will start serving Reno on November 16, gradually increasing services on the route to four...
US's Northern Pacific Airways rebrands
11.09.2023 - 21:31 UTCNorthern Pacific Airways (Anchorage Ted Stevens) has announced it has rebranded to New Pacific Airlines in response to pending trademark litigation, but its operations will proceed uninterrupted.
"It is the right strategic move for our business, customers, the communities we serve, and most importantly, the more than 400 employees of our company," CEO Rob McKinney said in a statement. The rebranding would be effective upon approval of federal regulators.
McKinney declined further comment when approached by ch-aviation, citing "ongoing litigation".
One Mile at a Time news site reports that Texas-based rail operator BNSF Railway Company filed a lawsuit against Northern Pacific Airways in October 2022, claiming ownership of the Northern Pacific brand name. BNSF Railway Company's historical use of the Northern Pacific name dates back to 1893, despite its subsequent rebranding due to a merger. The railway company maintains rights to the Northern Pacific name, prompting the need for Northern Pacific Airways to change its branding.
The rebranding is already reflected on the airline's LinkedIn page, while its old branding...

US's Northern Pacific maintains network into 4Q23, adds B757
28.08.2023 - 21:49 UTCNorthern Pacific Airways (Anchorage Ted Stevens) has announced the extension of its "highly successful flights" between Ontario International, California, and Las Vegas Harry Reid, through October 2, 2023, the introduction of more B757-200s, and is planning services to Mexico in the IATA winter.
Chief Executive Officer Rob McKinney informed ch-aviation by email that the route between Las Vegas and Ontario, east of Los Angeles, has "a very steep booking curve, so the normal need to have a long lead schedule is not as necessary".
"We are about a week from adding the second plane, but even then, it is a small fleet," he added. "We are getting more and more charter requests and are still working on a Mexico service for this winter. We are choosing to just do short-term schedules Los Angeles [Ontario]-Vegas to give ourselves more flexibility into the fall, based on the timing of the arrival of the third plane and work already on the books," he explained.
Northern Pacific Airways already has four B757-200s owned by...

US's Northern Pacific Airways completes certification
10.07.2023 - 21:37 UTCNorthern Pacific Airways (Anchorage Ted Stevens) is gearing up for its first commercial flight between Ontario International, California and Las Vegas Harry Reid on July 14, after securing outstanding operations specifications (Ops Specs) for its B757-200s, Chief Executive Officer Rob McKinney has confirmed to ch-aviation.
The carrier will use the Air Carrier Certificate (ACC) of its sister company, Ravn Alaska (7H, Anchorage Ted Stevens), when it debuts the weekly seasonal scheduled flights, the start of which was initially planned for June 2. Its fleet comprises four inhouse B757-200s, according to the ch-aviation fleets advanced module.
Plans have been adapted several times since the carrier's establishment was first mooted in July 2021. Northern Pacific Airways had initially planned to serve as a low-cost carrier using Anchorage Ted Stevens as a connecting hub between Asia and the Continental United States based on the model of Icelandair connecting Europe and North America through Reykjavik Keflavik. However, due to the closure of Russian airspace due to its war in...
