Hawaiian Airlines (HA, Honolulu) has put its now decommissioned fleet of ATR - Avions de Transport Régional turboprops up for sale after having decided earlier in the year to end its 'Ohana-branded Hawaiian island passenger and cargo operations.
The aircraft, which were operated on Hawaiian's behalf by Empire Airlines (EM, Coeur d'Alene Pappy Boyington), are being sold through Airstream International Group and are as follows:
- ATR42-500s msn 594, 623, 625;
- ATR72-201F LCDs msn 227 and 389;
- ATR72-212F LCDs msn 423 and 432.
All are currently parked at Coeur d'Alene in northern Idaho.
Hawaiian had used the turboprops to operate essential air service (EAS) flights between Honolulu and the islands of Moloka‘i and Lānai as well as on cargo flights between the islands. However, the impact of COVID-19 on travel demand both to and within the Hawaiian archipelago forced the suspension of freighter services in November 2020 and passenger services in January of this year.
