Ultimate Air Shuttle (Cincinnati Lunken) will suspend scheduled flights from its bases at Cincinnati Lunken and Cleveland Burke Lakefront after December 16 until further notice citing ongoing challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The shuttle division will remain idle until further notice due to the continued challenging environment the pandemic created. Forecasting business travel in 2022 is a challenge with travel restrictions by multiple corporations still in effect and new ones taking place. When the virus finally dissipates and normal business activity returns, so will Ultimate Air Shuttle,” the virtual carrier announced in a statement on its website.

The company’s private charter division, Ultimate Jetcharters (Akron Regional), will continue to offer on-demand charter travel for groups of up to 30 passengers, it announced on social media.

Founded in 1984, Ultimate Jetcharters operates a fleet of eight 30-seat Do328-300 twin-turboprops and two EMB-135LRs, specialising in corporate shuttles, sports team/fan travel, project shuttles, incentive/group travel and casino trips.

In July 2009, Ultimate Jetcharters launched its Ultimate Air Shuttle service between Cincinnati and New York City, later expanding it to include shuttles to Chicago, Charlotte, and Cleveland.
