Porter Airlines (P3, Toronto Billy Bishop City Centre) has ramped up its E195-E2 order book with a firm commitment for 20 more of the E2 jets signed during the 2022 Farnborough Air Show.

In a joint statement with Embraer (EMB, São José dos Campos Professor Urbano Ernesto Stumpf), the Canadian carrier said the new order brings its overall backlog to fifty firm E195-E2s with options for a further 50. In July of 2021, Porter placed a firm order for thirty E195-E2s with options for 50 more.

As the E2's North American launch operator, Porter is on track to start taking delivery of its first E2 jets during the second half of 2022. It intends to deploy the E195-E2s on flights from Ottawa International, Montréal Trudeau, Halifax, and Toronto Pearson to business and leisure destinations throughout Canada, the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

At present, Porter Airlines operates an all-De Havilland Aircraft of Canada fleet of twenty-nine Dash 8-400s on flights to 18 cities across eastern Canada as well as the northeastern United States that primarily focus on its Toronto Billy Bishop City Centre hub.
