Air Algérie (AH, Algiers) has issued a request for proposals for the procurement of 15 new-build commercial aircraft as part of its government-backed fleet renewal and restructuring plan.

The tender is divided into four lots namely:

  • Lot 1: five (5) narrowbody aircraft (200 seats standard capacity - Option A);
  • Lot 2: three (3) narrowbody aircraft (200 seats standard capacity - Option B);
  • Lot 3: five (5) widebody aircraft (300 seats standard capacity);
  • Lot 4: two (2) widebody aircraft (400 seats standard capacity).

Despite an earlier correction, the state-owner carrier has re-specified that the tender is indeed "addressed exclusively to aircraft manufacturers", a company spokesman has clarified to ch-aviation.

The deadline for submissions is 1200L (1100Z) on October 26, 2022.

According to the ch-aviation fleets module, Air Algérie's narrowbody and widebody passenger jets entail eight A330-200s (average age of 13.8 years), five B737-600s (20.4 years mean), and twenty-two B737-800s (13.1 years mean). All are owned.
