Sweden's BRA ventures outside Nordics, wet-leases S2000
03.11.2022 - 06:30 UTCBRA - Braathens Regional Airlines (TF, Stockholm Bromma) has announced that it will launch its first scheduled service beyond Scandinavia, namely a seasonal 2x weekly route between Gothenburg Landvetter and Lyon St. Exupéry.
Services to the French city will begin on February 20 but have been scheduled only through March 24, 2023, coinciding with the period of winter holidays in Swedish schools. BRA will wet-lease an Saab 2000 from Estonia's NyxAir to operate the route.
The ch-aviation schedules module shows that BRA currently focuses on serving the Swedish domestic market, where nearly 96% of its total scheduled capacity is deployed. It also connects Stockholm Bromma with Aarhus in Denmark (5x weekly) and Helsinki Vantaa in Finland (6x weekly).

Sweden's BRA proceeds with RFP for five A319s
16.08.2022 - 11:18 UTCBRA - Braathens Regional Airlines (TF, Stockholm Bromma) issued a Request for Proposals for the dry-lease of five A319-100s in early July 2022 and is currently shortlisting lessors with the commitment expected to be signed by early October.
"The RFP has been met with significant interest from the lessor community," the Swedish carrier said in a statement.
BRA announced plans to enter the narrowbody market in late June after signing a three-year SEK2 billion kronor (USD197 million) agreement with tour operator Ving. The five A319s are expected to "predominantly" operate leisure charters to Mediterranean destinations.
The airline also announced it had agreed to lease a further two ATR72-600s from Nordic Aviation Capital. One new-build aircraft will deliver this month with another, a 2019 build, due in October 2022. They will increase the airline's fleet of the type to 14, all of which are operated by technical subsidiary BRA - Braathens Regional Airways (TF, Trollhättan).
