Republic Airways (YX, Indianapolis International) has trimmed its E175 order book by 31 aircraft, Embraer's latest orders and deliveries report has revealed.

The US regional capacity provider currently operates 165 E175s, including thirty owned by Delta Air Lines (and originally ordered by Northwest Airlines) and twelve owned and ordered by United Airlines. The remaining 123 were ordered from the Brazilian manufacturer by Republic Airways. Following this cut, Republic now has only sixty-nine E175s on firm order from the manufacturer making for a total of 192.

The carrier did not respond to ch-aviation's request for comment.

Republic Airways is currently the world's second-largest operator of the E175, trailing rival US regional capacity provider SkyWest Airlines (OO, Salt Lake City), which has 190 aircraft in its fleet but just six left to deliver. Like most US airlines, Republic Airways has been struggling to hire enough pilots and has recently invested in its own training programme after the FAA denied its bid to lower the limit for entry-level pilot flight hours.
