Air Uganda (Entebbe/Kampala) plans to retire its remaining two MD-87s 5X-UGA (MSN 49840) and 5X-UGB (MSN 49837) later this year concentrating on its regional operations with two CRJ200s. Air Uganda currently serves Bujumbura, Dar es Salaam, Juba, Kigali, Mombasa and Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta from Entebbe/Kampala with the MD-87s just used on the Juba route according to its schedules. This would leave Air Burkina (2J, Ouagadougou) as its only sister carrier still operating two MD-87s after Air Mali (Bamako) had already retired its MD-80 fleet earlier this year.
