Trade Air (C3, Zagreb Franjo Tuđman) has been granted rights to operate scheduled, domestic flights between Zagreb Franjo Tuđman and Osijek; its first steps into the market having previously operated as an exclusive charter carrier. However, according to EX-YU Aviation News, further plans to operate Croatia's busiest domestic route, Zagreb to Dubrovnik, have yet to materialize. In related news, Croatia Airlines (OU, Zagreb Franjo Tuđman) have been forced to maintain their Osijek to Split and Dubrovnik flights by government, despite objections citing the routes' lack of profitability. Both developments will likely be welcomed by Osijek Airport, which has struggled to attract adequate traffic in recent years. Things are expected to take a turn for the better this coming winter following reports that an undisclosed carrier will begin flights to Munich, Bern and Cologne/Bonn.
