Lao Airlines (QV, Vientiane) plans to buy two ATR72-600s next year along with two Airbus A320-200s in 2015 to cope with its expanding route network, the Vientiane Times has claimed. According to Mr Phouthasone Vannachack, director-general of the airline's commercial department, the additional capacity is required as the Laotian national carrier intends to increase its flights between Vientiane and Oudomxay, Houeixay and Luang Namtha from three to four times daily from October for the peak tourist season. Flights to Seoul Incheon are also planned. Lao Airlines operates four A320-200s, six ATR72-500/600s and four Yunshuji Y-7s on an extensive domestic network as well as on flights to neighbouring Vietnam, Thailand, China and Singapore.
