Bombardier Aerospace (BBA, Montréal Trudeau) says Flexjet (LXJ, Cleveland Cuyahoga Country) was the unidentified customer which placed an order for twenty Challenger 350 business jets back in April.

The order, originally included in a November 2015 Memorandum of Understanding and now publicly announced at EBACE in Geneva, will result in result in forty-three Challenger 300/350 series aircraft flying in the Flexjet fleet by the end of this year. An additional four Challenger 350 aircraft will follow in 2017, with the remainder delivering over the next five years.

FlexJet also operates Learjet 75LXis, Embraer Legacy 450s, Global Express, Gulfstream II/III/IV/Vs and GVI-G650s with orders for twenty Aerion AS2 supersonic business jets.

Though it primarily focuses on the US fractional ownership market, FlexJet is now planning to enter the European commuter market during the second half of the year.

In an announcement at EBACE 2016, the firm said it would acquire an existing carrier's AOC ahead of plans to operate a fleet of eight Nextant 400XTi light jets on point-to-point services across Europe. Initially, it will offer ad-hoc charters as well as subscription-based flying.
