CityJet (WX, Dublin Int'l) is looking at acquiring another European carrier Chief Executive Officer Pat Byrne has told the Irish Independent. The Irish regional scheduled and passenger charter specialist bought Finland's Blue 1 (KF, Helsinki Vantaa) and Denmark's Cimber (QA, S√łnderborg) from SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK, Copenhagen Kastrup) in 2015 and 2017 respectively and is looking to complete the new purchase this year.

While Blue 1 has since been absorbed into its new parent, Cimber has been retained as a separate entity and currently operates CRJ-900s for SAS.

In an interview, Byrne also revealed that CityJet will look to submit a proposal for the Aer Lingus Regional white-label contract, currently operated by rival and one-time potential purchase Stobart Air (RE, Dublin Int'l), once it comes up for tender in the coming years.

In terms of ACMI contracts, CityJet has also extended an agreement for the operation of ARJ-85s for former parent Air France (AF, Paris CDG) into 2018. Byrne added that talks are already underway to extend the agreement even further.

According to the ch-aviation aircraft database, Cityjet also operates four SSJ 100/95Bs for Brussels Airlines (SN, Brussels National).
