Delta Air Lines (DL, Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson) has confirmed it will end scheduled B747-400 operations on Sunday, December 17, with the type's final such flight slated to be DL154 Seoul Incheon-Detroit Metropolitan.

In a statement, Delta said it would, thereafter, retain the B747 in service through December 31 to operate "a handful of sports team and ad-hoc charter flights." With the conclusion of all commercial services, its last active B747 will then be ferried to Arizona in early January, it added.

According to the ch-aviation fleets database, Delta currently operates six B747-400s.
