Travel Service Airlines (Prague Václav Havel) has taken delivery of its first B737-8 with OK-SWA (msn 43555) having been positioned from Seattle Boeing Field to Prague Václav Havel on Tuesday, January 30.

On lease from GECAS, the twinjet is expected to be deployed in the coming weeks on scheduled Smartwings-branded flights from Prague Václav Havel to each of Tenerife Sur, Hurghada, and Dubai International initially. Other destinations being considered for MAX service include Salalah in Oman, the Cape Verde Islands, and Zanzibar (Tanzania).

The Czech operator is expecting a total of thirty-nine B737 MAX to deliver direct from Boeing (BOE, Washington National) of which eight are direct purchases with the remainder sourced from lessors. This year, Travel Service will add six aircraft, followed by 15 in 2019, and 18 by 2021.
