Xiamen Airlines (MF, Xiamen) has signed an agreement with Boeing (BOE, Washington National) for the purchase of twenty B737-8 and ten B737-10 aircraft.

Parent firm China Southern Airlines (CZ, Guangzhou) said in a stock market disclosure the aircraft will be delivered to Xiamen Airlines over the period covering 2019 to 2022. In terms of the MAX 8s, five will arrive in 2019, seven in 2020, and eight in 2021. In terms of the MAX 10s, seven will be delivered to Xiamen Airlines in 2021 followed by three in 2022.

Funding for the acquisitions will come from internal resources as well as bank loans.

As with all Chinese aircraft orders, finalization of the acquisition is still subject to approval from the relevant government authorities in Beijing.
