KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KL, Amsterdam Schiphol) has announced it had sold KLM Jet Center, a business jet ground handling agent active at Amsterdam Schiphol and Rotterdam, to Swiss-based Jet Aviation, effective October 1, 2018.

The Dutch carrier said it wanted to focus on its core business and ground handling operations for executive jets did not fit its strategy.

"KLM has been handling flights of this kind out of the Schiphol-Oost since 1986. A similar centre was opened in Rotterdam in 2004. The sale of activities and fixed assets of the KLM Jet Center also implies a transfer of undertaking, which means all staff will take service with Jet Aviation Netherlands B.V. as of [October 1, 2018]," the carrier said in a statement.
