SaudiGulf Airlines (SGQ, Dammam) has signed a firm order agreement with Airbus for up to twenty A320neo Family jets.

Announced during the 2018 Bahrain International Airshow, the carrier said in a statement the order entails ten firm and ten optioned aircraft which are a mix of both A320neo and A321neo. Deliveries will start during the second half of 2019 and will see between 6 and 8 jets deliver every year through 2022.

SaudiGulf is the second Saudi carrier to commit to the A321neo after Saudia which, according to CAPA, has fifteen A321neo(LR)s, slated to be delivered from 2020. flynas has also touted the LR's potential in launching Umrah flights to secondary European cities.

As it stands, SaudiGulf Airlines currently operates a fleet of six A320ceo of which two are wet-leased from BH Air - Balkan Holidays Air. It operates Saudi domestic flights connecting Riyadh, Abha, and Jeddah International with its Dammam hub from where it also offers international flights to Islamabad International, Sialkot, Lahore International, Dubai International, and Karachi International.
