Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) and China Aviation Supplies Holding Company (CAS) have signed a General Terms Agreement (GTA) for the purchase by Chinese airlines of a total of 300 Airbus aircraft.
The GTA, which comprises 290 A320 Family and ten A350 Family jets, was signed in Paris, France by Guillaume Faury, President of Airbus Commercial Aircraft and future Airbus CEO, and Jia Baojun, Chairman of CAS, in the presence of visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping and French President Emmanuel Macron.
CAS is a state-owned enterprise managed by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.
Chinese carriers are required to seek approval from Beijing for all and any international aircraft orders which, if approved, are then bought in bulk through CAS.
