Jet2 (United Kingdom) (LS, Leeds/Bradford) has announced in press releases that it will expand its offer from Birmingham, GB and Manchester International, making us of the capacity gaps in the market created by the bankruptcy of Thomas Cook Airlines UK (Manchester International).
The leisure specialist said it will base four additional aircraft at Manchester airport. On top of the previously announced new routes to Preveza/Lefkas, Zadar, and Tivat, it will also add a new service to Skiathos in the Summer 2020 season. Jet2's capacity from Manchester will grow by 16% in Summer 2020 in comparison to the past summer season.
Jet2 will also base an additional three aircraft at Birmingham airport. It will add new services to Skiathos and Barcelona El Prat, on top of the previously announced flights to Preveza, Budapest, Nice, Kefallinia, and Murcia San Javier, increasing its capacity from the airport by 23%.
In addition to the new routes, Jet2 will also increase frequencies on multiple services from both British cities.
Jet2 already has crew bases at both Birmingham and Manchester airports, the ch-aviation PRO airlines module shows. The carrier operates nine B737-300s, two B737-300(QC)s, sixty-nine B737-800s, and eleven B757-200s.
