Announced on December 2, Singapore Airlines' low-cost carrier (LCC) Scoot (TR, Singapore Changi) has inked a deal with Irish aircraft leasing company SMBC Aviation Capital for six A321-200neo for delivery from the end of 2020 through 2021. The aircraft will be powered by Pratt & Whitney’s PW1100G-JM engines.

Lee Lik Hsin, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Scoot, said: “We look forward to receiving the A321neo aircraft from SMBC Aviation Capital; the aircraft will rejuvenate our fleet and enable us to meet our double-digit growth plan in the coming years.”

The Singaporean LCC currently has a mixed fleet of ten B787-8s and ten B787-9s, as well as twenty-six A320-200s and two A320-200neo. According to the ch-aviation fleets ownership module both of the A320neo are flown on operating leases, as well as 20 of the A320-200s. The remainder of Scoot's fleet is owned by the airline.

It also has two more B787-8s, thirty-one A320neo and sixteen A321neo on order. Scoot’s network presently encompasses 68 destinations across 15 countries, with six more Indonesia destinations to join the network by the second half of 2020.
