Ibom Air (QI, Uyo) took delivery of the first of its ten firm-ordered A220-300s during a handover ceremony at Montréal Mirabel on November 24, 2023.

5N-CDA (msn 55250) has already been painted into the carrier's livery but remains in Canada for the time being. The airline did not respond to ch-aviation's request for the identification of the aircraft or to a question about the timeline for the ferry flight and entry into service.

Ibom Air expects a further two A220-300s by October 2024, and the remaining seven later.

The carrier operated two units of the type on a wet lease from EgyptAir (MS, Cairo International) between June 2021 and June 2022 as a test. Satisfied with the results, it ordered ten A220s in November 2021. The contract initially covered seven A220-100s and three -300s but was later adjusted to include only the larger variant.

Ibom Air's current fleet comprises five in-house CRJ900s and two A320-200 on a long-term wet-lease from Airhub Airlines and GetJet Airlines Latvia, the ch-aviation fleets module shows.
