Sweet Aviation (Fort Wayne Smith Field) has acquired Aviation Charter Services's entire fleet, comprising four Cessna Aircraft Company Citation business jets, in tandem with the acquisition of the sole Fixed Base Operator (FBO) at Goshen, IN.
The largest business jets in Sweet Aviation's fleet, the four Citations - one XLS, one XLS+, one Encore, and one Encore+ - will support the carrier's Part 135 charter fleet based out Fort Wayne International. Sweet Aviation, which holds a Part 135 certificate but is heavily focused on pilot training, has so far operated two PC-12/47s, two Cirrus Vision Jet G2+, and one Cirrus SR-22 through its charter fleet. It also operates a variety of smaller aircraft for pilot training only.
Sweet Aviation is expanding to Goshen, having bought the local airport FBO Goshen Air Center. The facility will be the second in the company's portfolio, following DeKalb County, IN. Sweet Aviation also has facilities at Fort Wayne International and Fort Wayne Smith Field airports.
