Mauritania Airlines International (Nouakchott) is now able to launch flights to the European Union if it plans to do so given Mauritania as a country has been removed from its ban list after ICAO has found the country's safety oversight procedures to now match with its standards. Eritrea has been added to the updated ban list published this week. This will only have a limited impact on Eritrean Airlines (Asmara) as it has already been using A319-100 LZ-AOA (c/n 3139) wet-leased from BH Air - Balkan Holidays Air (8H, Sofia) on its services to Rome Fiumicino, the only EU destination served by Eritrean.
