Mont Gabaon Airlines (Goma) has taken delivery of its first A320-200, bought from Kenya's Freedom Airline Express (4F, Nairobi Wilson), the company confirmed to ch-aviation.

ADS-B data shows that 5Y-FAH (msn 341) was ferried from Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta to Kinshasa N'Djili on April 27, when the airline also announced the A320's addition to its fleet on social media. It will be deployed soon on domestic routes, the company informed ch-aviation.

According to ch-aviation Commercial Aviation Aircraft Data data, the 146-seater aircraft is configured with 14 seats in business class, 36 in economy plus, and 96 in economy. The 32.9-year-old Airbus jet is equipped with CFM International CFM56-5A1 engines.

The addition of the A320 brings Mont Gabaon's fleet to six aircraft, following the induction earlier this month of its first B737-300(SF) freighter, bought from Mongolian Airways Cargo (Ulaanbaatar). The company also bought one B737-500 from Africa Charter Airline (FSK, Johannesburg O.R. Tambo). In addition, it owns one ATR72-500 and one Shorts 330 and leases one ATR72-500(F) from Aircraft Traders Belgium SA.

DR Congo's civil aviation authority (Autorité de l'Aviation Civile - AAC) earlier confirmed that Mont Gabaon Airlines had not yet obtained its air operator's certificate (AOC) and was still undergoing certification but currently operates under a temporary authorisation granted by the director general, as allowed by Article 6 of the country's Civil Aviation Act.
