The United States government said that, as part of ongoing trade negotiations with Tokyo, Japanese airlines have committed to "purchase US-made commercial aircraft, including an agreement to buy 100 Boeing aircraft". A "fact sheet" released by the Donald Trump administration did not specify any further details, and it is unclear if these are new commitments or just a summary of already existing deals. ch-aviation data shows that Japanese airlines currently have 101 firm orders from Boeing, including 48 aircraft ordered by JAL Group, 46 ordered by ANA Holdings, five by Skymark Airlines, and two by Japan Air Self-Defence Force. ANA refused to comment, while JAL did not respond to ch-aviation's request.
