Flightpath Charter Airways (KNT, Kitchener) has launched Dassault Aviation operations with the addition of a Falcon 7X.
"We're thrilled to welcome the Dassault Falcon 7X to our managed and charter fleet, based in Calgary," the company announced in a LinkedIn post.
The 15.1-year-old trijet, C-GOFJ (msn 61), is configured for up to 12 passengers and began operations under Flightpath's 'KNT' code on July 20, flying between Calgary and Scottsdale.
It was previously the sole Dassault jet operated by Sunwest Aviation (CNK, Calgary), flying for the last time under the company's 'CNK' code on June 30, from Vancouver International to Calgary.
Sunwest Aviation, which acquired Jet-Share Aviation earlier this year, now operates two Learjet 45s, a Learjet 45(XR), two Challenger 300s, a Challenger 350, a Challenger 3500, two Challenger 604s, a Challenger 605, a Citation XLS, a Citation Sovereign, two G150s, a G650ER, a DHC-8-Q200, two DHC-8-Q300s, a King Air B200, two King Air B300s, five Beech 1900Ds, and a Piper (twin piston) PA-31 for private operations.
Flightpath's first Dassault jet joins a fleet of 18 other aircraft, including a Learjet 45XR, a Learjet 60XR, a Learjet 70 parked since February at Montréal Trudeau, a Learjet 75 Liberty, a Challenger 650 not available for charter, a Global 6000, a Global 7500, a Citation Jet 3, a Phenom 100, two Phenom 300s, two Phenom 300Es, a Praetor 600, a G150 added in May and not available for commercial operations, a G200, and two PC-12s.
In Canada, three other air operator's certificate (AOC) holders with CAR 703 and CAR 704 certification operate the Falcon 7X, including Execaire Aviation, with two units, and Anderson Air and Skyservice Business Aviation, with one each. Four other units registered in the country are privately operated, while a single Falcon 8X, the upgraded variant of the Falcon 7X, is also not available for commercial operations.
Meanwhile, Flightpath's sister company, Flightpath Aviation USA, will be the exclusive tenant of a new 30,000-square-foot (2,787-square-metre) hangar under construction at Boca Raton, part of the Atlantic Aviation fixed-base operation (FBO) complex. Scheduled for completion in October, the facility will serve the company’s United States-based clients, with South Florida indentified as a key business aviation market.
