Clay Lacy Aviation (CLY, Van Nuys) has inducted a first Challenger 650 for charter while retiring the sole G150 it operated, ch-aviation research shows.
The 9.7-year-old Bombardier Business Aircraft, N5950E (msn 6064), is configured for up to 12 passengers and is based at Denver Centennial. Privately operated in the United States since new, the aircraft joined an older Challenger 604 in Clay Lacy's charter fleet.
Meanwhile, the company retired an 18.3-year-old G150, which was since registered in Brazil as PS-MJE (msn 231) on September 3. The aircraft had been operated by Clay Lacy since 2008, initially as N9611Z before being reregistered in early 2009 as N787BN. Configured for up to seven passengers, it remained active until May 29, when it flew between Fresno Yosemite and Van Nuys, where it was based. On July 28, it departed to Dallas Addison and was deregistered from the United States on August 7.
Between August 9 and 14, the jet was ferried to Curitiba International, where it remains parked, with stops at Aguadilla, Boa Vista, RR, Teresina, and Vitória Goiabeiras. It is currently privately operated in Brazil.
Following the G150's retirement, Clay Lacy's Part 135-certified fleet continues to include another Gulfstream Aerospace midsize jet, a G280. As of July, the company's charter certificate further comprised 45 other Bombardier, Cessna Aircraft Company, Dassault Aviation, Embraer Executive Jets, Gulfstream, and Hawker Beechcraft aircraft.
