flyGTA Airlines (TOR, Toronto Billy Bishop City Centre) has phased out a Learjet 45 and exited Citation-series operations following the retirement of a Citation Bravo. CEO Chris Nowrouzi told ch-aviation the phase-outs reflect a shift in the carrier's business model, which is now centred on heavier jets.

The 23.1-year-old Learjet 45, C-FLOZ (msn 45-214), remained active until June 21, when it flew between Toronto Pearson, where it was based, and Hamilton, ON, followed by legs to Charlottetown, PE and Muskoka. On July 14, it ferried to Fort Lauderdale Executive, where it remains parked, with stops at Salmon Arm, Columbia, SC, and Destin Executive.

Meanwhile, a 22.8-year-old Citation Bravo, with manufacturer serial number 550-1043, was also retired by flyGTA Airlines. The former Toronto-based nine-seat aircraft, which had been operated by the carrier since early 2019 as C-GWFP, has been stored at Muskoka since April 14, 2024. Deregistered on July 20, the aircraft's future registration and operator remain unknown.

Nowrouzi said flyGTA Airlines has changed focus to operating exclusively heavy jets. “We want to cover more international markets with increased capacity and range, using primarily a Challenger 604 and Challenger 605 fleet.”

The carrier currently operates two Challenger 604s, one of which was inducted in September. “We aim to add several aircraft of this model in 2026, and have retired the other types,” he added.

Among the aircraft also phased out is a Phenom 300, retired in June, marking the end of Embraer Executive Jets at flyGTA Airlines.
