Northeast Shuttles (Agartala) as well as helicopter operator Pawan Hans Helicopters (Delhi International) and cargo operator Quikjet Airlines (QO, Bengaluru International) have expressed their interest in operating regional services in India's Northeast along with two start-up carriers. Alliance Air (India) (9I, Delhi International) had two ATR 42-300s based at Kolkata and Guwahati until the end of December when an agreement with the Government of India for the subsidized regional services has expired. Alliance had operated from Guwahati to Agartala, Aizawl, Dimapur, Imphal, Jorhat, Lilabari, Silchar and Tezpur and from Kolkata to Agartala, Dimapur, Guwahati, Jorhat, Lilabari, Shillong, Silchar and Tezpur under flight numbers of parent Air India (AI, Delhi International).
